West Point Volunteer Drivers Needed

DriverBlock.jpgCommon Ground Senior Services is recruiting drivers to deliver Meals-on-Wheels to our home-bound clients, and for the Silver Streak Transport Program which provides transportation to older adults, the disabled and veterans for non-emergency health and wellness appointments; transports can include trips from grocery shopping to appointments at veteran facilities in Palo Alto, Livermore, and/or Mather Air Force Base.

Programs are seeking volunteers over the age of 18 with a valid driver’s license, clean driving record, and proof of registration and insurance. A handicap fleet of vehicles is available for transports or drivers may use their own vehicles. In return, volunteers can receive mileage reimbursement, the satisfaction of making a difference in someone’s day, and set their own hours.

Senior Nutrition Program Volunteer

The Senior Nutrition Program could not exist without the help of volunteers every weekday.

Our volunteers help prepare and serve meals to seniors in six different meal sites throughout Amador and Calaveras counties, as well as deliver Meals on Wheels to homebound seniors every weekday.

Volunteering for Meals on Wheels is a great way to make a huge impact in a short amount of time. By delivering meals you bring nutritious food and a friendly visit seniors and people with disabilities in our community.

Anyone can deliver meals, or prepare and serve at our meal sites and it’s a great volunteer opportunity for families and teams of employees, as well. Sign up today and find out how easy and rewarding it is to bring nutrition and independence to your neighbors!

 Transportation Volunteer

Volunteer Transportation was formed to help meet the transportation needs of Amador County seniors and their families.   Volunteer drivers use their own vehicles to drive seniors to medical, dental, eye, foot care and other essential appointments. Volunteer drivers provide a personalized, one-on-one transportation service. They drive seniors to and from appointments, waiting with them until they are ready to return home.

Seniors who use our service appreciate the helping hand and moral support. There is no charge for Volunteer Transportation services. Donations are accepted and appreciated.
